Having grown up in a conservative, male-dominated culture, she sought ways to express herself in a place where a woman’s voice had to be in hushed tones. She often found herself in trouble for breaking rules and questioning societal expectations imposed on women.
The trauma she experienced in her personal life left her well acquainted with anxiety & depression. She uses Abstract Expressionism to battle that darkness with colors and to express freedom and hope, while exploring the complexities of human emotions.
Kahkashan has a Bachelors in Business Administration from India, as well as a Bachelors of Science in Finance from Saudi Arabia. After working in her field for a while, she decided to come back to school to pursue her passion and a degree in Art and Design at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, FL. Though her forte is in abstract art, she enjoys photography and portraiture. She likes exploring different mediums and wants to further explore Pyrography Art.
Her work has been showcased in Dania City Hall (2018), Riptide Music Festival (2018), Decade – Art & Design Program 10 Year Anniversary and at the Senior Exhibition (2019). She won the Honorable Mention Award at the 10th Annual Juried Student Art Exhibit in Nova Southeastern University (2018)
Kahkashan currently works and lives in Davie, Florida.
